Information we collect.

We collect personal information you give us directly, for example when you complete the contact form, subscribe to the journal newsletter or send us an enquiry by email. This typically includes your name, email address, role or company, and the contents of any message you send us.

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site. It loads only after you accept cookies. If you reject, or before you choose, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. IP addresses are anonymised. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The typefaces used on this website are served from our own servers (self-hosted), so no visitor data is shared with a third-party font provider.

How we use your information.

We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, deliver the services you have asked us about, send you the journal newsletter where you have asked for it, and keep our own records of the engagement. We do not sell your information to anyone.

Where you have engaged us as a client, we will hold and process the information needed to deliver that engagement, including any draft material, interview transcripts and reference documents you share with us. This is covered in the engagement agreement and any non-disclosure agreement signed at the outset.

The lawful basis we rely on.

Under UK GDPR we rely on the following lawful bases. Legitimate interests for responding to enquiries you have initiated and for keeping records of our engagements. Consent for sending the journal newsletter; you can withdraw consent at any time by replying or using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email. Contractual necessity for delivering services you have engaged us to provide. Legal obligation for retaining records we are required to keep by law.

Retention - how long we keep data.

We retain enquiry information for up to 24 months from the last contact, unless we are working with you on an active engagement, in which case we retain it for the duration of the engagement and for a period of seven years thereafter (in line with UK record-keeping requirements). Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe.

Your rights under UK GDPR.

You have the right to ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is inaccurate, to ask us to delete it (subject to our legitimate retention obligations), to object to processing, to ask us to restrict processing, and to receive a copy of your information in a portable form.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by phoning 0303 123 1113.

When we share data.

We use a small number of trusted service providers (for email delivery, document storage and similar). We share only what is necessary, under written contract, and only with providers that meet UK GDPR standards. We do not transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA without appropriate safeguards in place.

We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone, ever.

Cookies and similar technologies.

This website uses essential cookies that are required for the site to function, and, only once you accept, Google Analytics (GA4) to measure how the site is used. You can decline analytics by choosing Reject; your choice is remembered for about twelve months. Essential cookies cannot be switched off, as the site needs them to work. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
